Our last edition of the Unite Scientific Aging Conference (USAC-2023) in Rome, Italy was a huge success, as the participants enjoyed, appreciated, and were enriched by the presentations given by the internationally recognized speakers.
Unite Explores is glad to announce the "2nd Edition of Unite Scientific Aging Conference (USAC-2024)" which is going to be held during April 25-26, 2024 in Munich, Germany. We are heartily open to the invitation to Participants who are involved and working on Aging.
USAC-2024 consists of multiple presentations, interesting breakout sessions, and demonstrations. Scientists, Professors, Doctors, academicians, and industry clients from around the world who belonged to the aging research are participating. Submissions from a variety of fields and perspectives are welcomed and encouraged. The focused disciplines, including aging, Geriatrics, Gerontology, sociology, and psychology, will ensure an active and exciting opportunity to expand our gerontological understanding.

Carmelo Mesa-Lago is a Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Pittsburgh; a visiting professor/ researcher in 8 countries and a lecturer in 39 countries. Dr. Annaliese Blair is a Clinical Psychologist with the Southern NSW Local Health District Aged Care Evaluation Unit, Australia. She has been in this role for nearly two decades, overseeing research projects aimed at alleviating problems associated with ageing, including the impact of dementia, as well as problems experienced by carers. Annaliese has extensive experience working in inpatient units, residential care setting and community mental health teams providing psychosocial interventions for older people with mental health problems and/or dementia, their carers and nursing staff and as a Senior Policy Officer with the NSW Older People’s Mental Health Policy Unit
Dr Katrina Anderson is a Clinical Psychologist and Researcher with the Aged Care Evaluation Unit, Southern NSW Local Health District, Australia. She has 15 years of experience in designing, conducting, and overseeing research into clinical interventions in dementia with the aim of improving the lives of older people and their carers. Her clinical experience includes working in a psychogeriatric inpatient unit, a dementia-specific unit, and with residential aged care facilities, providing assessments, counseling, and interventions. She is a Lead Investigator on a number of large-scale reserach projects
David Wortley is CEO & Founder of 360in360 Immersive Experiences and a VP of the International Society of Digital Medicine (ISDM. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Commerce and a global thought leader and innovator on enabling technologies for health, education and the environment. He is on the editorial board of the Digital Medicine Journal. He is an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Medicine and a Visiting Fellow at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at Bournemouth University
Tahmineh Azizi is a highly innovative and accomplished researcher in the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with extensive understanding and more than Five years experience of in presentations, development of novel models and tools, and computational analysis to quantitatively bridge the gap between in-vitro experiments and in-vivo endpoints. Her research has been directed towards areas including mathematical biology, dynamical systems theory, computational analysis, mathematical modeling, statistical modeling, Neuroscience, epidemiological models, topological data analysis, fractional calculus and fractal geometry, and multiscale modeling.
Dr. Costley is an Associate Professor of Gerontology for 15 years and coordinator of the only undergraduate degree in Gerontology in NYC. Before York College, he was the co-investigator of the Columbia Cooperative Aging Program (CCAP) at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University with funding from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. At York, he introduced developed workshops in geriatric care management skills to the undergraduate curriculum, with funding from the New York State Worforce Development Initiative. He currently focuses on public policy on food access and using geographic system technology to improve food distribution to older adults.
Dr. Rui-Ming Liu is a tenured Professor at the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine, School of Medicine, University of Alabama at Birmingham. The research in her lab focuses on oxidative stress/antioxidants, aging, and aging related diseases, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Dr. Liu has obtained numerous grants from different funding agencies including National Institute of Health (NIH), American Lung Association, and Department of Defense (DOD) to study the etiology, pathogenesis, and therapeutics of IPF. Dr. Liu has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and is recognized as an expert in the field.

Dr. Zarowitz has been in geriatric post-acute and long-term care practice and conducted research in older adults for the past 20 years. Over her career she has published 10 book chapters; 129 peer-reviewed articles and over 120 abstracts, editorials, letters and columns. She has received 11 leadership, research, teaching and practice awards including the 2015 George F. Archambault Award for outstanding contributions to consultant and senior care pharmacy and the 2022 Howard Guterman Scientific Poster Award in post-acute and long-term care. Her research and health policy focus in on medication optimization in older adults with complex co-morbidities and health disparities
Dr. Seth VanDerVeer is an osteopathic physician who is double board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology, and holds a RhMSUS certification from the American College of Rheumatology for his proficiency in musculoskeletal ultrasound. Throughout his medical training, he earned multiple certifications in strength and conditioning from the NSCA, and gained considerable experience training various populations including individuals with chronic disease, athletes, and fellow members of the U.S. military. He is currently a rheumatologist at Nellis AFB in Nevada, where he focuses on optimizing diet and exercise practices for all his patients in addition to usual pharmacologic managment.
Boshi Wang works in the Department of Clinical Nutrition, People's Hospital of Peking University as a Clinical Dietitian, responsible for clinical nutrition and health education in the geriatric ward and hematology ward, specializing in the nutritional diagnosis and treatment of chronic non-communicable diseases, and nutritional screening and dietary guidance for hematological diseases. She investigating the prevalence of sarcopenia and manifold factors associated with sarcopenia in diverse diseases and achieving a quantity of significant outcomes
Elena Carbone, psychologist, Ph.D. in Psychological Sciences (University of Padova), expert in Psychology of Aging (Second-Level Short-Specialization degree in Gerontological Psychology, University of Padova), Researcher at the Department of General Psychology, University of Padova and member of the Psychology of Aging and Longevity Service at the same University. Her main research interests encompass age-related cognitive changes and individual differences between young and older adults’ core cognitive mechanisms and complex cognitive abilities. She is also interested designing and implementing cognitive interventions and cognitive stimulation programs for older adults with typical and pathological aging. She is author of more than 20 national and international publications on these topics
Dr. Ami Rokach, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and teaches at the psychology dept. at York university in Toronto. He has been conducting research and writes about loneliness and its consequences, for the past 40 years. He sees focusing on loneliness, by academia, the media, and conferences, one more step to get it out of the closet, and diminish the stigma that is attached to it.
Dr. Deng-Chi Yang graduated from the Department of Medicine at Tzu Chi University in 2004 with an M.D. degree and M.S. degree in Gerontology in National Cheng Kung University in 2012. He received residency training in Internal Medicine, and fellowship training in Nephrology and Geriatrics & Gerontology in National Cheng Kung University Hospital from 2004-2010. Since then, he has devoted himself to research and teaching in the field of Geriatrics & Gerontology. He also received an outstanding research award from the College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University in 2012. He was a principal investigator of the acute care for the elderly (ACE) program of the Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare during 2020-2022. He works as an attending physician and assistant professor in the Department of Geriatrics & Gerontology, National Cheng Kung University Hospital, Tainan, Taiwan.
APETI Sodjehoun, internist-geriatrician at Lomé Campus University Hospital and, Director and Chief Physician of the IMHOTEP GAMESU Medical Clinic born in 1986 in Togo, obtained the Baccalaureate C in 2002, Doctorate in Medicine in 2012, the Geriatrician diploma in 2017 as an internist in 2018. He obtained the DFMS in Geriatrics and the DU in Emergency Medicine for the Elderly in Limoges, France in 2017.
He is the executive president of the Association for the Development of Telehealth in Togo consultant to the ITU for Togo in Telemedicine, international scientific expert committee at the 11th International Francophone Congress of Gerontology and Geriatrics (CIFGG) in 2018 member of the Academy of Telemedicine and e-Health and author or co-authors of several documents and articles.
She Graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, currently a second-degree resident doctor in the specialty of family medicine, at the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social. Fellow Open Medical Institute International/AMSA initiative for medical professionals, which through education and research, aims to improve healthcare on a global scale. Awarded a scholarship in a seminar in Salzburg for excellence in geriatric clinical case presentation. Stay at the Epidemiological Research Unit and Querétaro Health Services, with the publication of a medical article Association between family functionality and mild cognitive impairment in the family with the elderly in the Spanish journal of Geriatrics and Gerontology.
Pablo Martínez-Cañada leads the Neural Engineering and Computing Laboratory (NECO Lab) of University of Granada. Before becoming an independent researcher, he was awarded a prestigious MSCA Postdoctoral Individual Fellowship. He has developed rigorous mathematical tools to disambiguate EEGs/MEGs and robustly interpret them in terms of specific neural features (e.g., excitation-inhibition ratio). His findings are generating important new knowledge about contributions of different neural phenomena to EEGs/MEGs and are helping quantify how neural parameters change with manipulations of neural circuits or in brain disorders. An important scientific achievement is the first co-authorship in a relevant paper on neural mechanisms of autism published in eLife, which has been selected by the Simons Foundation (USA) as the 5th most notable paper in autism research in 2020.
Dr. Mantyh is the Fesler Lampert Chair of Aging and Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Minnesota. He is currently the Principal Investigator of an NIH R01 funded research project to provide early disease detection, accurate diagnosis, and measurable biomarker endpoints for future disease modifying therapies. An additional focus of Dr. Mantyh is to help uncover the heterogeneous ancestry-dependent genetics of Alzheimer’s disease, and include underrepresented populations in Alzheimer’s disease research.
Mariana Mateus is a Physiotherapist at the NeuroSer Clinic, specializing in the diagnosis and intervention of neurological diseases in adults. She is the coordinator of a team of therapists and oversees the Physiotherapy department. With 10 years of experience in neurological Physiotherapy, she holds a degree in Physiotherapy from Escola Superior de Saúde do Alcoitão and a Master’s Degree in Neurosciences from the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon. Additionally, she serves as a guest lecturer in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Physiotherapy and as a clinical advisor for curricular internships in Physiotherapy at Escola Superior de Saúde do Alcoitão.

Zsolt P. Ori is a practicing internist, and hospitalist with previous training in Bio-Medical Cybernetics (Ilmenau University of Technology, Germany) before entering medical school (Medical School, Szeged, Hungary). He published more than 10 papers and holds two US patents related to Medical Cybernetics and how it could be used to prevent and improve cardiometabolic conditions. His Cyber-Physical System can provide metrics of the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions and help reach age-adequate health.
Dr. Vontell received her PhD from King’s College London and Imperial College London, London, United Kingdom. She is Associate Director of the Brain Endowment Bank at the University of Miami. Her primary research has focused on the inflammatory mediators in the brain and their relation to complex diseases; she has been instrumental in studies that identify potential targets for neuronal inflammation in both infants and adults. In addition, she has been involved in developing and implementing educational rotations for the University of Miami Neuroscience Graduate Program. She serves on the editorial board for the journal of Clinical Neurology and Neuroscience.

Dr. Jonathan Brouillette (Ph.D.) is a neuroscientist and Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of Montreal. The laboratory of Dr. Brouillette focuses on developing innovative therapeutic approaches and novel biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease and memory problems that arise with age. Machteld Blanken is a psychiatrist working in the Older Age department at the University Hospital of Maastricht, The Netherlands. Her work emphasizes the importance of considering age and sex as critical variables in understanding the clinical presentation and treatment response of mood disorders. Outside of her research and clinical duties, Machteld engages in academic discourse, participating in conferences and seminars to share insights and collaborate with fellow experts in the field. She advocates to consider age and sex as essential factors in research in a way to improve diagnostic and treatment strategies.

Neeraj Singh, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Neurosciences Institute at Northwell Health and Director of the Electroencephalography (EEG) Laboratory in the Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital in New York, NY. After completing general neurology and epilepsy training at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, he joined Northwell Health where he participated in early research that found an association between SARS-CoV-2 viral infections and new-onset epilepsy in one of the early epicenters of the COVID-19 pandemic. His current research interests include investigating the underlying causes of neurological conditions, including seizures and cognitive decline, and in developing strategies to improve education and provision of care to patients with neurological diseases
